OWEB Small Grant Team: Region 6

The OWEB Region 6 Small Grant Team (SGT 06) is a locally led partnership of watershed councils, soil and water conservation districts, and Tribes working together to support high‑impact, on‑the‑ground restoration across southwestern Oregon. As part of the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board’s (OWEB) statewide Small Grant Program, the Region 6 Team presents, reviews, and recommends funding for projects that deliver measurable benefits to water quality, water quantity, and fish and wildlife habitat. This Team includes biologists, restoration ecologists, and other environmental professionals who discuss and provide valuable feedback for the grants being presented during each session.

Small Grants provide up to $20,000 for restoration actions that can be implemented quickly and effectively on private lands, empowering landowners to contribute “small acts of kindness” that collectively advance the Oregon Plan for Salmon and Watersheds and the Oregon Conservation Strategy. Region 6’s collaborative, place‑based approach ensures that funding decisions reflect local priorities, hydrologic realities, and community knowledge, strengthening watershed health across the Rogue, Illinois, and South Coast basins.

Grants are submitted through the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board Grant Management System (OGMS) and reviewed quarterly. If you would like more information about the program, please check out the website: https://www.oregon.gov/oweb/grants/small-grants/Pages/small-grants.aspx
